Hi! My name is Steven Degutis, and this is my website. I wrote it in Django using Python.
Much of my day is spent writing programs for the Mac, iPhone, iPad, Web, and Internet.
I work for Aaron Hillegass at the Big Nerd Ranch. At my job, I write Cocoa and Cocoa-Touch apps using Objective-C. I've spent the last 3 years learning how to use these awesome tools.
Lately I'm fascinated with Python, and the world of web development. (TCP is awesome.) This website itself is hosted on slicehost, which I highly recommend; my slice has been a very fun playground and laboratory.
When at home, I love to climb trees and play outside with my family, and mow my lawn with a simple push mower (really not as hard as it sounds, and very energy-efficient). I also love to create things, and programming for computers is a very convenient and cheap way to do that.
You'll often find my ramblings — often related to programming — in the Developer Journal link at the top of this page.
If you want to check out some open-source projects I wrote, click the Coding Projects link at the top of this page.
Sometimes I'll post random thoughts to my twitter stream at @sdegutis, which you're welcome to browse.
But I much prefer email to twitter, so if you want to contact me, send an email to my first name at my second name dot org. (Damn you, spambots!)
